CITIS was founded as a public company in 1952 with the aim to supply sulphur raw material as well as industrial elaborated sulphur products to European and African markets.

  • Acquisition of Yara shares in CITIS by Froidure family = 100% of CITIS
  • Jordan Phosphate Mine Company (JPMC) agent

  • CITIS specialties Sulphur forming plant Dunkirk « Ecaille and paillettes Sulphur »: bottom of trade and equipment bought from Elf Aquitaine (7,500 t / year capacity)

  • CITIS Liquid Sulphur Terminal Marseille (Gignac)

1974

  • N°1 Chemical (French) distributor sell CITIS shares to Froidure Family (30%), allowing the blockage minority
  • Start to build n°1 NW Europe liquid Sulphur fleet of roadtankcars and railway containers

1972

  • Polish Sulphur selling agent 350 to 400,000 t / year
  • And distributor through its fully owned liquid Sulphur tank terminal
  • 20,000 t capacity in Rouen Grand Quevilly
  • Beginning of contractual relations with most of petroleum companies
  • Fertilizantes Fosfatados Mexicanos (FFM) –Phosphoric acid Agent (P2O5)

1968

  • Acquisition of Siape (Tunisia) shares in CITIS (10%)

  • Pan Americain sulphur agent (U.S.A)
  • Jaltipan Frash Mine (Mexico) 250.000 t

1952

  • CITIS foundation by major fertilizer manufacturers (and chemical distributors under the control of Cofaz Total fertilizer subsidiary having 52% of the capital)
